Chennai’s Cinema Paradiso goes to Calcutta

Most of us seek richness in user experience in most of the stuff that we do. And Cinema Paradiso got that part very right when they opened their movie rental store a few years ago in Chennai. A warm yellow ambience with a decidedly casual interior and plenty of great movies in amazingly varied categories.

Now Cinema Paradiso opens shop at Kolkata. Apparently Mumbai, Pune and Delhi are next on the list.

For some unfathomable reason I have been deluding myself into thinking that membership at one video library is good enough to offer quality fare at all times. And for that very reason, I had not signed up at Cinema Paradiso inspite of visiting there a few times. Hmm…I definitely need to reconsider that!

I agree. The ‘user experience’ at CP is something else. Right from the sheer width and depth of their range to the way the DVDs are stacked and arranged to the free popcorn! =) Everything about the outlet says, “Come on in!”.

Outlets like RIC (in Nungambakkam) would do well to learn a few lessons from the likes of CP.

    Damn, I miss that city! :( :)
