absolute bliss
Master card has a series of ads which documents the priceless moments of our lives, I decided to write down the moments of Chennai life which are forever engrained my memories, something that I can never forget and will always miss.
Waking up at 5 am on a Sunday morning, starting my bike, crusing down Cathedrals Road with the cool wind in my face, and no traffic. Reaching the beach, marking my terrortiy for cricket, and defending it against other who also wish to play cricket. Playing cricket till it gets hot, cooling off with a glass of lime juice at palimar juice stall….absolute bliss!!!
Leaving home at 8 pm, navigating the Chennai traffic, fighting for a parking spot at the beach, a plate of molaga bhajji, while at the same time enjoying the sea breeze, after that sitting on the beach, and listening to the waves, leaving beach at 10 pm, when your kicked out….absolute bliss!!
Cutting college, sneaking outta college, going to the theatre and fighting the crowds, buying a ticket for a tamil masala padam, whistling and screaming when thalaivar comes on screen, singing the songs, mocking the movie…absolute bliss.
Walking round the Mylapore area, navigating the crowds, eating an idiyappam from Mamis mess and topping it off with a molaga bhajji from Jannal Kadai…absolute bliss
Walking through the congested Parrys Corner, along the old streets, the old buildings, looking at what the road side stalls have to offer, crossin the road and walking throught Burma Bazar, window shopping through Burma Bazar and not buying anyting….absolute biss….
Parking the bike on mount road, crossing the road, watching the mechanics work on Bullets, and then going to Richie Street, browsing through the music cds, finally locating the cd which contains the rare song, coming home, listening to that song in absolute silence…..absolute bliss
Starting the bike; navigating the Adyar traffic, finally reaching ECR, cruising throught ECR, with the sea on one side, stopping for a parota/juice a local juice stall…absolute bliss…
Leaving home at 11 pm, reaching Beasant Nagar bus stand, walking along the coast till Neelakarai, watching a olive Ridley turtle perform the turtle dance, nest, and disappear into the sea…absolute bliss
