Chennai celebrates World Book Day

World Book Day as you know falls on 23 April. It’s a symbolic date for world literature for on this date and in the same year of 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died and also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors. UNESCO celebrates it as World Book and Copyright Day on April 23, 2006.

The British Council library in Chennai marks this phenomenal day with a special book display, reading workshop, bookmark competition and online discussions.
