Khaana Ghaana, Chamiers Road
Khaana Ghaana is one more amongst the multicuisine restaurants that dot Chennai. It is situated in Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar Salai) adjacent to the Nandanam Arch and opposite to the Aavin Milk Booth. The restaurant is spacious, well lit, but parking is limited though. They serve Tandoor, Chinese and Continental.
For starters we had Haryali Paneer Tikka and Fish Tikka. Both were done well, crispy outside and soft inside. They serve good quantities too. For main course we ordered Schezwan Fried Rice with Vegetable Ball Manchurian. The manchurian was awesome, with soft vegetable balls melting in the mouth. Like many citizens of Chennai we didn’t flinch when asked if we want Manchurian with gravy or without. Apparently only Indian Chinese restaurants do this :-). Our friends had Chicken Biriyani, and gave their thumbs up for it.
Dessert is what makes this place interesting. They have a bar kind of set up, but serve only mocktails. Difference mocktails are there, but priced high. We settled for regular sundaes.
Apparently live entertainment is part of the restaurant, but on the day we went all we got was Sun Music channel. The waiters are friendly, they know how to serve and the seats are spacious enough.
On the whole a decent restaurant, if you are not expecting too much.
Chenthil,
Haven’t heard about this restaurant before. How new or old is this restaurant?
About 6 months old I guess
Chenthil,
Till recently, I used to pass the restaurant everyday on my way to T-Nagar. Guess I will have to drop in one of these days. Shall we?
