13 years of Peter’s Road Saravana Bhavan

An all time favourite restaurant of mine is Saravana Bhavan, on Peter’s Road. For the simple reason they serve the best darn filter coffee this side of the galaxy.
I am not exaggerating (well, atleast not too much) when I say that I am a principal reason the Peter’s Road outlet makes profit. For the last 4 years, an afternoon, evening and just-before-i-head-home coffee are a ritual for me.
Now that I’ve done rambling enough on the preamble, here’s the news. The Peter’s Road Saravana Bhavan is celebrating their 14th year of operations. They’ve fattened stomachs and lightened purses for 13 years now. And to celebrate the event, are giving away free “Sakkarai pongal” (A porridge made of jaggery and rice, for the benefit of our international audience) with every order. Go, eat.

In the centre of the city, without any facility for parking vehicles , by greasing the nearby traffic contables, successfully completed 14 years – a great thing – by having money and power any body can do anything as they like. In their mylapore branch at South Mada Street, Saravana Bhavan encroached the road to 3 to4’width on the road to 10′ length and their securities are not allowing even the pedestrians to walk on that area and even the petty street vendors are drive away by their securities.
