SEraja: The Event Web

Some experts for a while now, have been screaming, “The days of Desktop Computing are over. The days of Mobile Computing are about to begin”. SEraja, (via) a start-up by Ramesh Jain focussing on city life thinks just the same and has put together a WAP – enabled website which has the same functionality as a “Today’s events” list in the newspaper.

Before any one starts grousing, yes, it’s in its very early stage. It can only evolve and cater to needs better, if more people started showing an interest in it, just as the way it is with a lot of things these days. How do you “show your interest”? Sign up and post events pertaining to your city. Yes, for a change, Chennai is very much present, along with Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi and Washington D.C.

With a WAP enabled mobile device, enter this URL and can plan an event/view what’s up and coming in your city.

However, it is an irony of sorts that while on the one hand there are rapidly evolving mobile technologies out there to be exploited (or put to good use, rather), there are some who confiscate even the most primitive mobile phones inside the campus of a University.
