Chenthil’s post Novels on Chennai ended with a question to the reader. He wanted readers to recommend books of fiction that had Chennai as a central character. In order to locate information for a book that I wanted to recommend, I googled its title ‘In Old Madras’ only to be pleasantly surprised by the wealth of articles that I found on Chennai’s changing face.

The Seminar magazine’s March 2004 issue (#535) carries excellent articles on the subject from Chennai’s famous writers (including one from our popular blogging writer) and I recommend taking some time off to read them all.
