Eggs return to noon meal diet

Chief minister M. Karunanidhi has launched the two eggs per week scheme for the benefit of school children. He announced on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the late K. Kamaraj that the day would be observed as education development day in the state. Both the steps are promises made by the DMK in its poll manifesto.
Mr Karunanidhi recalled that the previous AIADMK government had withdrawn a scheme brought in by his government to provide an egg a week to school students. This was not the only scheme that the AIADMK regime had withdrawn. The Uzhavar Santhai and marriage assistance scheme launched by his government were also wound up by the AIADMK government, the DMK chief said.

Weekly one or tow days, the giving of egss is great. But what is the fear is the egg are perishable in a very short time. The concerned authporities should be vigilant and be sure that only good eggs are distributed. Even a little carelesness in the scheme would pave ways for mixing of rotten eggs which would spoiled the health of the children. So whether one or two eggs,Tuesday or Friday the eggs should be good quality for which more care should be given.

ya, the perishability of eggs was one of the main reasons cited by the AIADMK government when eggs were taken off the menu. instead a combination of cereals was given to school kids. but now eggs are defenitely back.
