Tamils reach home from Lebanon

341 Tamils arrived at Chennai airport on Friday night from conflict-hit Lebanon, many of them after years away from home. Arrangements have been made to take those who arrived Friday night to their respective hometowns. Apart from their travel and stay arrangements all those who arrived were given Rs.500 as pocket money.

Other 4 persons who reached Chennai were Keralites. The stranded Indians were airlifted from Larcana, Cyprus in Air India flights. Another flight carrying a total of 262 Indians from Lebanon scheduled to land in Mumbai Vayalar Ravi, union minister of state for External Affairs told reporters at Chennai airport. As many as 119 Tamils in Mumbai bound flight are expected to reach Chennai on early Saturday morning by a special flight.
