Chennai Bill Boards

British company Privilege Insurance recently released the results of a research project, citing that scantily-clad models and other such eye-catching billboard material are dangerously distracting to drivers and cause automobile accidents.

I am not aware of any such research projects taken up at Chennai. But I remember reading a newsreport in “The Hindu” some time back that the Bill Boards cause accidents.

Generally the traffic slows down at Panagal Park. When this bill board on 7up Curvy Bottle was put up at Panagal Park, the traffic was moving at snail’s pace.

The bill boards of Manmandir Sarees and Nalli are impressive.

This bill board was put up by Kumaran Textiles prior to the launch of their showroom at Mylapore

To quote Ravages “if it weren’t for advertisement hoardings, Chennai wouldn’t be the city it is – it was founded for commercial and trading reasons, and i am glad it continues today…”

(I was thinking for some time to do a post on Bill Boards at Chennai. I am inspired to write this post after reading Keerthivasan’s post on Bill Boards)
