Click for books, Easwari

So you read books. And no matter how many stores open and how many trusted platform booksellers you know, you are always curious for more. Sometimes, you are so fed up of looking in vain for your special interest, say comics, that you write sad stories about them. At other times, prickly friends of yours talk about piracy and stuff and dampen your enthusiasm.

Okay, patience now. I am almost there. One, two, three…say yippee! Because Easwari Lending Library’s online presence looks extremely inviting and fairly comprehensive. Let us look at some specifics:

=> The site offers online membership requests (general, premium, platinum memberships)

=> delivers books at your doorstep (at a cost, read fine print)

=> allows borrowing of books based on deposit amount

=> has a reasonably good collection of Tintin, Asterix, Amar Chitra Katha and all those you have fond memories of

=> has a buying option for some books and promises good deals

=> allows borrowing of books across branches

Easwari is also open to buying books from the public to build its collection.

I am quite impressed by the details that the site provides. In fact, I intend to apply for a membership soon. Have any of you tried the online version yet? If yes, do you recommend it?

My sad story still doesn’t have a happy ending. Recently I placed a bulk order of 4 glossy Tin Tin books from a bookstore in Mumbai (for less than half its original value) and had a relative pick it up for me :(
