i was a bit surprised because the gaffe that she committed during the valedictory speech she made at columbia a couple of years ago. indra compared the world to her hand, the 5 fingers to the 5 different continents, and starting with the thumb went on, and raised the middle finger to indicate the u.s.a (north america). americans from a wide spectrum were offended. inspite of that she got the 2nd top job at pepsi. two things that come to my mind – americans are forgiving (imagine if this had happened in india) and second, she must be awfully good at her job. :)

Surely a job like that this must have been in the pipeline for months?

Its just that I can’t help thinking that some good publicity material for India is just what Pepsi needs right now…

    Cynical? What, ME?
