Happy Birthday, Chennai
And to celebrate it, here are 5 things I like about the city

• The Location: Despite the blazing sun, the city’s got a lot going for it in terms of location
• The Air: of quiet accomplishment – the sense of ‘let me do the thing I can do’
• The People: Conservative/Orthodox/Prudes they might or might not be, but courteous they definitely are
• The History: 367 years, give or take a few millenia
• The Potential: To do something big, to be something important, to grow

But…

here are also 5 things I don’t like about the city:

• The People: Can’t keep out of other’s lives
• The Pollution
• The Outlook: A rather limited, ‘don’t rock the boat’ viewpoint of all concerned
• The Apathy towards heritage
• The Sun
