Today is Vinayaga Chathurthi, a major Hindu Festival. The festival falling on a Sunday, a holiday is lost. Some of the images captured at Velachery this morning which reflects the mood of the festival :

about 40 years ago, it was much low keyed. there was no commercial vinayakar kodai. one made do with the vinayakar at home. no new ones were purchased. the highlights were the kozhakattais - both salt and sweet. but times have changed. :)
