Aavani Thallupadi ?!

chennai_silks

News : Demolition of three floors of The Chennai Silks began yesterday, following the Supreme Court’s decision that wouldnt alter the High Court judgement.

Trivia : I asked my dad… “Isnt this a huge money loss ?”.. My dad had an analytical question as a response. “If Chennai Silks can add Rs. 10 on every garment sold.. How quick can he recover the loss ?”.. Well. pretty quick i guess.

Add 10 rupees to each sale and you’ll sell half what you used to sell.

Good attempt at the cartoon though.

Kingsley, Thats a possibility. But do you think people will realize the price hike, even if they do ? They are clever in marketing !

BTW, Thanks for appreciating the cartoon attempt !

Keerthi – nice cartoon! Imo, the crowd will dip for a while whether or not Chennai Silks works the pricing because folks are quite superstitious about buying from an “idinju pona” building. Until another sensation takes its place, Chennai Silks’ 3 floors will stay on people’s minds.

Lavanya, I think it is the new building being constructed is being demolished. Guess the old one will still continue to be there ! Someone can clarify ?

Will other buildings(Saravana Stores, Nallis, Pothys et al) be demolished as well? Btw, are these in violation of CMDA norms or not? Any idea?

Mukunth, Yaamariyom Paraparame ! TCS (Why do all of a sudden they call The Chennai Silks like this ?) building was in violation of the norms and proved in Court. Hence the Damaal !

    WA, Nandri Hai :)

A major partner of CS is my neighbor and I can vouch it’s the public money that is going down. Easy come, easy go.
Cant talk anything more here and you can make guesses :)

what about these cs guys? didn’t they know the right people to pay off, like the 99.99% of chennaivasis? or what?

    Great cartoon!!!
Wish the court cleaned up parts of TNagar like this. Most of the buildings should be in violation.

And What about the Crores and Lakhs CS had gained/made with those 3 extra floors on all these years, so far……………

I am pretty sure that they are not the losers….

Govt should take stringent actions on similar constructions……

This is a violation that does not really affect the common man as much as the random parking on the street on which this building is situated, does. Or the way in which autos trying to pick passengers block half the road. But then, we have our priorities.

The three floors in violation could not have come up overnight. What were the authorities doing when the building was being constructed ? This is not an obscure building coming up in some corner of the city. The building is in a prime area of the city, yet the building coming up in violation of guidelines has escaped the attention of the regulators. Some questions does not have answers.

Keerthivasan – Another Madan in the making ?

Jacky, Public Moneynna ? Puriyalaye ! If you are talking abt the money public paid for their product, then it is out of the Profit money.. Illaya ? Ragasiyama enakku mattum Sollunga ;)

Phantom363, Thats the power of Sani Bhagawan. Even though you block all the loop holes, You would have missed the one that you were standing on !

Sankar, Thanks ! Its not just TNagar. Every Flat resident should check with his Flat Promoter as well. Even we might be in trouble !
