Sathyam Cinemas – Online Reservation

Sathyam Cinemas - 2

After learning about introduction of Online Reservation for theatres in Sathyam Multiplex, I wanted to book for 2 tickets to go to Sillunu oru Kadhal on 11/9 .After reading Srivatsan’s review “Sillunu oru puke”, I decided to go to Unakkum Enakkum. I logged into www.thecinema.in for booking the tickets in Subham.

The Elite ticket costs Rs 85/-. Per ticket the service charge is Rs 5/- , that makes it Rs 90/-. If you want to select the seat, there is an additional Rs 10/- (per ticket or for the booking- not known). Next screen takes you to ordering for eatables. I skipped and went for payment. Gave the credit card details and clicked for making payment. Next screen says – TALKING TO THE BANK . Next screen says something like “Oops – the request could not be processed and try again after some time”. I started all over again. Ended up with “Oops – the request could not be processed……….”. This was in the morning on 10/09.

I tried my luck again to book the tickets around 4 pm. This time after all the procedures, talking to the bank, the screen was still and then I got a message, “Your request timed out”. After trying a couple of times, I got a message ” maximum payment attempts exhausted. Log in again”. Tried again and no luck.

I called the call centre number 4224 4224. I told my problem. He said the online booking server is under maintenance and will be in service by tomorrow evening. Then I asked him whether I can order tickets over phone. He said phone booking is available for Tuesday evening show only.

The New Zealander COO of Sathyam Cinemas needs to do something about the Online Reservation System

(Forgive me for posting a August 2005 photo of Sathyam Cinema)

Back home in Toronto we have much the same problems with our online reservations. Not quite so bad, but there have been several times where I’ve booked online for a multiplex and had my reservations lost.

Though I have to say that I like it here where you can book your exact seat. It is a very nice touch.

Now if only the online booking actually worked correctly.

Why does this theatre always look like unfinished?

I love this theatre. I have watched several movies in this theatre before coming to US. Even though it looked nice inside, outside look so bad, as if like still some construction is pending….

Actually There will be a very huge hoarding in that place. The photo would have been taken when hoarding is being replaced, that is why you are seeing the unfinished portion

the online reservation is just an advertisement….it really does not work.I experienced the same problem with Abirami theatre online reservation system….
But regarding Satyam Cinemas,it is the best in chennai… till PVRs and other multiplexes starts rolling films in Chennai city…. we have to wait and watch….
