Romance Ruining my Hobby

I am learning photography. And I love Marina Beach.

But, whenever I focus on something that could be a beautiful picture, there would be a couple romancing in the frame. They choose those places. What you see on the top, is a random picture on a lovely evening in Marina. And you could spot how many Suryas and Jothikas.. !

There was once a discussion on metroblog mail group regarding the top places where you see the Deiveega Kaadhals. Its doubtless that, as far as Chennai is concerned, Marina beach would stand first.

Reasons are various. First would be the economical face. Its cheap. No body cares about you sitting somewhere. There’s plenty of space. The city doesnt keenly observe you anymore.. they’ve already seen so much. I guess, these people enjoy privacy, even though they are in the open.

Another important factor : Reachability. You can reach the beach from anywhere in the city.

“Chellam ! 5.30”

Thats all you need. And take any bus, or any route. Meet under any of the too many statues. And then press the Play button. Kadavule ! Kadavule !

Guys, you think there’s any other place that is most suitable for romantic meetings ? Use the comment box and do good to this world.

Air conditioned libraries ( USIS, British Council) could be a good place to meet; arent they ? When I was very young, I had noticed hanky panky in the Connemara library. However, the location is stuffy and in summers (No AC!) it is certainly not conducive to getting close.

You silly Tamilians if you are that who is a Tamilian these days in Chennai these days I can’ t tell they all want to act like there are North Indian of some other race very pitiful to see this silly youngsters need to learn a lesson. Tamilians have no self respect, there will be no such thing in another few years you wil become Hindi wallahs or Punjabis with turbans on your head singing balle balle.

hi, what surya jyotikas? all i see is two guys holding hands in the left fore front of the picture. i have no problem with that but i see no lovvy dovvy couples here in this pix :(

in the 70s, it used to be movie theatres and restaurants. :) drive in was the hottest spot.

Why don’t you go to a different place to shoot your photas?? Those poor love birds don’t have a better place to go. They have every right to be there.

OKONAMI, Good lead !! Ill take that up ;)

NAGA, Yeah.. I remember. Ippo Dravida aatchiyile adhellam mudiyadhu !

PHANTOM363, watch keenly on the sand. You can easily miss them, as they seem like one person ! Restaurants in Chennai are now over-crowded with people who have lots of money and no time to cook !

JAG, who said they dont ! After realizing, its virtually impossible to shoot a beautiful tree, as there would be atleast two pairs.. I quit most of beach photography !

hi raja, beautiful, though i romanced in chennai, i never did so at marina, oh! i would love to revisit my past and repeat the sequence at the marina beach.
i’ve been out of chennai for the past 5 years, tell me if there are any changes to the look and feel of this place, is it cleaner and greener? i heard that during the erstwhile govt. of jayalalitha some measures were taken to clean up the sea front, let know if it was an effort worthwhile man?
however, comparing with the much touted juhu sea front in bombay, i believe marina is gem of a beauty!
i however, remember my childhood when my dads office used to be just opposite the marina and my home was at mylapore…those days were wow!!! so beautiful, i used to wait for the weekends to travel with my dad to the marina or the santhome!!!
how beautiful chennai is!!!! how beautiful the seafronts are!
i miss it, sitting here in gurgaon, haryana and feel suffocated and unable to breath without the seafront…and moving in a couple of days to bombay. atleast, i get to see the sea!!!
