The Multiplex theatres are the ones who are going to be hit by these new rates. The director of Inox theatres said in an interview that at these prices multiplexes will have to operate at a loss.
But with a bunch of multiplex theatres coming up in Chennai the government would be forced to exempt multiplex theatres from this new price limit.

During a recent visit to Sathyam I was surprised to find that the Elite class tickets (Rs 125) for Dhoom 2 were the first ones to get sold out, while the lower priced premium class tickets were available. So when there are people ready to pay,I think certain theatres must be exempted from this price ceeling. The exemptions may be given based on the infrastructure and equipments installed in a theatre. The government can also fix a higher rate of tax for these theatres with the exemption.

    btw : Nice cartoon :-)
