INOX at Chennai
The much awaied INOX Multiplex is to open today (January 19, 2007) at Chennai City Centre.
INOX’s four screen multiplex, which has come up at Chennai Citi Centre on Radhakrishnan Road will commence its commercial screenings from Friday, January 19, 2007. INOX is the third multiplex at Chennai after Sathyam and Mayajaal. Other multiplex brands like PVR, Adlabs and Fame are lining up to enter the city. PVR will come up at Hampa Mall at Arumbakkam.
The four screen multiplex of INOX will offer a total of 909 seats. The ticket prices have been fixed at Rs 120 per seat , with 10 % of the overall capacity being offered at Rs 10/- per seat, in line with Tamil Nadu government ruling.
According to Mr Alok Tandon, COO of INOX Leisure, the average ticket price at INOX multiplexes across the country is Rs 150/-. The Management woul like to have a flexible pricing mechanism, depending on the timing of the show.
INOX had taken on lease a little over 35,000 sq ft from ETA, the promoter of Chenai Citi Centre. The renegotiated rent is Rs 37/- per sq ft according to property consultant sources. Refuel is the inhouse food counter at INOX. INOX will screen a combination of Hindi, English and Tamil movies. INOX is looking at expanding its presence in Chennai.
Risk (Hindi) and Dejavu (English) are the movies that open at INOX today.
