The Ugliest Building in Madras contest

Madras, seriously, must be the home of Ugly buildings. (Yes, Ugly with a capital U) Granted, there are some awesome buildings around, but they are oh so few and oh so far between.

Right, here’s something I want you, my dear readers, to do. Go out now, yes, now (or, ok, tomorrow) and find that one building that you absolutely, positively hate. That one building that makes you want to take out that sledgehammer and get to work on pulling it down.

Once you find that favourite (ahem) of yours, click a photo of it – digital camera/film/phone-camera/a sketch/whatever and send it to me – or post as a comment to this entry – or better yet, post to the Metroblogging Chennai flickr group (which you should join, like NOW). After which, we will all vote for the most hated building ever.

I hope to see some real fug-uglies.

I nominate the “Pothys” building in Usman road to be the worst building, closely followed by Sankarapandian stores building in the same road

The building which is opposite to Loyala College in which the malaysian embassy is now working is an eyesore to everybody with its dark green colour glass pannelling.

Shiva: I hope my mail explains what I meant. As for the better buildings, I promise, the other end of this post will soon be made.

    Sathish: Thank you. Any photos?

Suppamani: I agree, that building is really bad on the eye. Any photos?
