Cones Safter median @ velachery

First things first- my sincere and hearty congratulations for chennai traffic police on the new initiatives of introducing the temporary medians i.e Cones at velachery. The best part of these cones are if you are riding fast it almost makes you feel as continuous kind of median. When you are slow there is enough space for you cut the lanes and overtake if the ongoing traffic stopped moving.

When I saw The Hindu today I was really happy about the compulsory of wearing helmets, which would come in to effect very soon.

I could feel from these signs, that they are counting minor and major accidents at different places. And thanks to the chennai traffic police for bringing new safety standards.

I am just curious. If some one knows what these sign mean, can some one throw light.

these cones just deter cars, not motorcycles. while driving fast, ie, 70 kmph, i can cut across the cones, into the other lane, overtake and then come bck onto my side of the road. they are pretty much useless.

and it doesnt do much harm to my balance if i knock a couple of them down, i have had the pleasure of knocking a few of them down bang opposite fort st geroge :D

    Commenter Anon,
The most important thingy about communication is not the language, it is how well the message lands on others, as long the other person can understand what you are saying…it is OK. So if you cannot encourage.. atleast do not discourage.

Vatsan i hope you have a minor accident next time you do that so you will think twice. People are forgetting it is for their safety this is being done, not to piss off riders.
