Chennai Beach Front – April 1, 2007

On April 1, 2007 while traveling on the Beach Road , I found that there were many boats in the sea.

Behind Light House
An enquiry with a person on the beach revealed that the fishermen belonging to various fishing hamlets in and around Chennai are conducting a protest mid-sea to condemn the recent killing of 5 fishermen from Kanyakumari District allegedly by the Sri Lankan Navy.

The fishermen were returning to their base behind light house.

It’s really a shame to see our electronic media (English TV Channels) flashing breaking news when LTTE bombs srillanka and the same media doesn’t care a bit when our fellow country men killed by external elements.
thumps up to the blogger for posting this.

Yeah its a shame that the Hindian goverment does not seem to care about this issue it just shows how much respect the government has for Tamils which is very low. This will continue to be the case until Tamil Nadu seperates from Hindia this is when we will be served justice. Down with the Hindian goverment, self determination is the key.

As always, when you have a billion, the govt doesnt seem to care about a dozen lives ! this is a shame but true !

wondering what would have happened if somewhere in the world someone shoots a US citizen. here the fisherman are getting shot in their own sea !

I am sorry you feel that way Neofly but the truth is Tamil Nadu government is weak and can not protect there own.

Sriram you are right if this was another country there would be some stern action taken, but this is India or should I say Hindia. Where non Hindians have no say or value what do a buch of politicians care about this, if this was happening in Delhi we would have seem some real action and words. This is the plight of Tamils in this country we are kicked around where ever we go yet the people of TN still welcome everyone else that comes into TN like fools and treat them better than there own kind. When will these people ever learn?

The Whole world knows how the present UPA Govt has 12 Ministers from TN and how TN Govt and the ruling establishment can get anything and everything that they want from UPA Govt at Delhi, since UPA Govt lives on their support. Yet nothing is done on the issue of Fishermen killings and nothing will be done, because these killings represent opportunity to whip up emotions.

And it is not that SJ and their likes dont know this, but they would precisely want such a thing – whip up cheap regionalist emotions to stir hatred against — (Fill Your Blanks)

The politicians of TN can get anything they want is a incorrect statement made by Ramki. If they were so powerful I am sure we would have seen better things in TN which is not the case. I am just telling plain facts which some people can’t accept. Instead they make false accusations if they were so powerful Ramki why is Chennai not more developed then Delhi? Why are we making such a fuss if Hindian soldiers die in Kashmir that should also be not placed in the media.
