He said, ‘Let there be light’
So, as the DMK machinery swings into action to celebrate MK’s 50th year in the Assembly, the city’s getting festive and bright. Lights have come on, in places they didn’t exist earlier. Plantain and other assorted shrubs/tree trunks turn the city green, albeit temporarily. It’s all fun, for me.
And, do you folks remember this post of mine? The one with Anna’s statue under the flyover that bears his name? Well, that place has been given a face-lift: sparkling new, with tiles and plaques all washed clean and given a paint job.
I vote we have more such celebrations and more such display of power. The city’s nights definitely need them.
I vote less waste and of money and electricity and time on politicians’ egos.
But whose money they are spending to erect these flags, giant posters, etc. They are also dugging up roads to erect these and this way they are actually ruining the city and the others are temporary only
Guys, cool…I’m sure CG was in his sarcastic mode. ;-)
Did any of you guys notice the two big banners/boards right at the entrance of Poe’s (Poes) Garden? :D
the dmk’s move to light up the city streets caused power cuts in the lesser areas. sorry to be rude, but do we want that as well?
but do we want that as well?
Do we have a choice? Sorry to hear about the power-cuts, especially at this time of the year, but as long as a bunch of people have the guts to question the ___________________, I guess we don’t have a choice.

Sorry. Meant to say,”but as long as a bunch of people don’t have the guts to question the ___________________ …”
