The other side of T Nagar

The other day when the folks at home went for shopping at Nalli or Kumaran, I decided to go around Panagal Park to catch a glimpse of the other side of T Nagar. This post is a sequel to Manoj Jacob’s Silk route to T Nagar.

Fruit Juice Shop

Fruit Juice Shop on pavement near Panagal Park, T Nagar, Chennai in front of Sri Ramakrishna Mission School. A palmist also shares the same pavement and the Banner of the palmist is seen in the background.

Jamun Fruit Seller

Jamun Fruit Seller at Panagal Park in front of Lalitha Jewellery. The woman uses an umbrella to protect her from the sun and the person crossing the shop uses a towel wrapped around his head to escape the harsh June sun of Chennai. I wanted to buy the fruit and enquired the cost. When I am told Rs 40/- for quarter kilo, I asked for 100 gms of the fruit. The vendor said the minimum order quantity is quarter kilo and I deferred the buy decision.

Street Vendor

This vendor selling boiled groundnuts was spotted at T Nagar near Panagal Park in front of Kumaran. He also sells masala groundnuts which is a preparation of boiled groundnuts added with chopped carrot, cabbage, onions, coriander leaves, omapodi and a dash of lemon juice.

T Nagar

This must be a family visiting one of the shops described by KOKKI_JACOBUS in the post of Manoj Jacob.

As I completed one round around Panagal Park, the folks returned after shopping and I had to cut short my session to drive them back home.
