The over hundred and thirty years old Madras Boat Club has decided to hold the finals of this year’s Merchant’s & Banker’s Regatta on the 22nd September 07 this year. Already, some eight companies like Element K, JWT, Parrys, LionBridge and Sify are in the fray, with Sify being the defending champions. The Regatta is meant to promote the sport of rowing and more entries from companies are welcome. The Club also looks for sponsors to offset the costs involved, not only of organizing the regatta, but in maintaining the boats in top condition during the grueling two months of training before the races.
