The best time to listen to the radio

Last night I caught a late movie. As I emerged from the basement parking around midnight, my car radio sprang to life catching Ben E. King in the opening verse of Stand by Me.

At the end of the song, another song started. And at the end of that song, another. Very strange. The airwaves were as quiet as the roads outside.

There was no nonsensical chatter. No American accents as fake as a 99 rupee note. No ads. Just music. One song after the other. The radio never sounded this good before.

Before long, our carrot chomping detective had it figured out. The RJs had pressed the play button and gone to party.

How very sweet of them, I thought.
