Perish or live: It’s in your hands
The Delhi government gets it. The only way the situation on the roads will improve is if one creates awareness by sensitizing citizens to the peril that we can face on the roads. So you have periodic ads in the papers like this. You also have ads by the Delhi police. What do we have here? Zero, zilch. Do we have to have road rage murders on the roads like Delhi before they start? Two last week: one attempted, one murder. Car driver who was beaten up by five men on two motorbikes after the bike hit his car. They smashed his head in with a concrete flower pot. The second occurred when a scooter had a puncture and veered sharply towards the side of the road, and a car brushed it while attempting to stop. The three people on the scooter, including a woman, beat the car driver with a sharp iron rod on the head. Last heard, he was in critical condition in the hospital. It begins with anarchy on the roads. Then goes on to savage behaviour because there are no checks or balances. You’ve been warned.
I think it’s high time that messages like these replace ad-boards on the rear-end of buses, with pictures of graphic nature, if needed.
Govt standards on ads has improved over the years. this is really good as compared to what used to come out earlier. the message to the public is coming out well.
sadly in tn, the govt will never intorduce an english ad (even in the hindu the ads are vernacular).. so il never understand what it says anyways
Our politicians are only interested in advertising their own faces.
Kalaignarukku Cut out vekkalaam…but if you place any ads that benefit the public, it is sheer foolishness.
All those goon-MLAs and party officials placing those cut-outs with their own picture and name at the bottom right corner of those banners(like Basha Muhammadu, Thogudi Enn.523)…do it because…kalaignar sees those names while driving in his royal cavalcade and will remember the names of the biggest cutout sponsor during distribution of tickets. Once elected, these goons can make up the money spent on the cut-out within a few days.
What is the ROI on placing ads that tell people not to hang onto footboards?
India is doomed. It is going to become another ‘Somalia’. People are warned. Indian people have lost their brains. They have always been a slave. They were slaves under British rule, now they are slaves under their own politicians. India is DOOMED
Well Vivek, do you see anyway you can contribute to the society other than parking your @$$ on a chair and saying ‘india is doomed’ over and over again in every other post on this blog?
Sorry David for the comment above.. Its high time the government woke up to the dangers of road rage – people taking the law into their own hands and lynching/beating others to death looks like a scene straight out of ‘lawless land’ (I’m not sure how things work in Somalia, and no.. I’m not going to go by ‘western media’ reports). What we really need is a change in the attitude and mindset of all the road users; from the pedastrian who jaywalks at will to the scooters and autos who zip in and out of lanes, the ‘bigger’ vehicles who think they own the roads.. *sigh* almost sounds like a Shankar’s movie :)
Kokki, regardless what you thing or say India is doomed man. There is nothing you or I can do. Did you hear what YSR said in the assembly. That is the kind of people that is ruling us. Instead of gettng angry at my “doomed” post, if you can really do something, maybe MAYBE you can save India. But basically India is doomed. (Unless people wake up now)
