The basic idea is to capture the life of every chennai’te and freeze it in time and see and see through their eyes what they are seeing and living.

As per the site it goes like this..

On the 3rd of November 2007, we invite every Chennaiite to for one second, at exactly 03:11 PM, stop whatever it is that they are doing, and click, shoot, snap, capture or photograph that moment, just hold that one instant frozen in a picture and send it to us. This is not for any great worthy cause, this is not a competition, it may or may not help charity, it will not prevent global warming, you will gain no medals, no certificates but it is most definitely not a waste.

My contribution to this had big plans but went out to be a party pooper in the last minute due to work and hit the sack late and work up just in time for 3 PM.

I decided to make use of what i had in hand since i could not go out and shoot th real “ON THE ROAD” chennai that i wanted to.

Here is what i got….

7500 Watts P.M.P.O

A simple shot of my Amplifier at home. Its cheap, cheap as it can ever be. I assembled this piece 3 years back. I’m a hard core music addict and i appreciate my music really loud and thumping. Like it hurts down your stomach when you are in a club near a speaker, thats how loud i like it.

This Amplifier system connects my PC, my Set Top Box thats connected to my PC, My Yamaha Keyboard and my WorldSpace Satellite Radio Reciever.

The fabrication materials and the casing used outside are real cheap and bad. SO bad you can see its withered out for most parts but the Sound IC inside is a JVC Stereo Dolby Chipset and a Philips 2.5 Amps transformer to power all the way upto 480Watt RMS that pumps out close to 7500 Watts of power through 2 12″ Pioneer Speaker Boxes with JBL Tweeters and JVC Passive 6″ Subwoofers.

Wired

This pole is right outside of my house. I haven’t noticed it till today. I woke up late since i was working till late morning and i remembered that project 3/11 was todays schedule. I could not go out and shoot anything since it was too late and i decided to make use of what i had around me.

I still cannot believe after deploying underground electricity wiring some 10 years back in the city we still have high voltage electrical wiring that remains un-insulated and hanging out in the open.

All it takes is one down pour to electrocute somebody.

The Reason for my excellent Vodafone reception

These are the times when you thank yourself for buying that second body that comes in real handy. I ran outside the house with my second body and i shot this while the other one shot this.

I’m glad this sits right outside of my house. I’m always connected. I never get unreachable response when my cell is dialed and my GPRS and WAP works like a king at all times. ;-)

My first 400D body on a Sigma EF 24-710Mm F/2.8. I took my camera body out for cleaning since it had collected some dust accidentally on the bag when i vaccumed it yesterday. I remembered the 3/11 project was on today and i was too late.

These are the times when you thank youself for buying that second body that comes in real handy.
