Challenging Ferrero Rocher…

I love ferrero rocher. Its my Favourite chocolate given anyday from a list however there are some awesome things that lived in the past that will beat the crap out of ferrero rocher and snicker bars big time. Right out of your local chennai hood you can pick from one of these.

A few prominent ones i could recollect, add more to the list if you can come up with more.

P.S. Stick to candies/chocolate/sweets only and exclude bubble gums, snacks etc., another time on this…

Then Mittai – Honey candy in english, small white ones sold for 5 paisa and big red ones sold for 20 paisa. The name is misleading because it does not have any honey on it but it has sugar syrup and a little bit of minty flavour on it.

Kamarkattu – Made out of jagerry this hard candy is not only tasty but a good deal too. You pay 50 paisa to get one and there is a ten paisa iinside the candy that you can get back after you chew the candy off.

Strong Mint – The classic menthol flavoured peppermint candy. Nothing beats this macho down in times.

Pulippu Mittai – A very salty candy with orangish lemony flavor that happens to be a pick for carrying women. General recommendation for fatigue, giddiness and even otherwise a great thing to hog on. And yes if it was independence day or birthday this was the best thing to buy since its 5 paisa a piece.

Inji Marappa – Ginger Candy made of juice extracted from Ginger. Real spicy and sweet flavoured too. Available in plenty at bus stands and railway stations.

Gajeera – Im not sure if this is how its pronounced. Its a more cheaper version of something like the badushah sweet. Made of wafer like biscuit soaked in sugar syrup. Its not like a sweet but more of hardened candy the size of a standard Nutrine Chocolate.

Nutrine – Chocolate, classic chocolate in plain wrappers. No more, No less.

And what about kadalai muttai and the sesame seed version and the puffed rice version……..oh dearie me… exhausting to even think about it…Then there was this guy who went around with a doll mounted on a stick blowing a strange sounding bugle or whatever… In the mid 70’s it would cost 4 annas to buy a sweet which he would drag out from under the dolls butt and make a watch or some toy and fic on your hand…

Hmmmm…..perfect list added along with the ones from sanjeeva….for me the kadalai urundai is more classical than the bars…i still remember the first time i tasted kamarkattu….in pudukkottai….during my bachelors….it was really delicious….later on when i tried one from Chennai it was not the same…

I do like ferrero rocher but my love is Raffaello….anyway i love all milk chocolates with lots of nuts….

“Gajeera – Im not sure if this is how its pronounced.”

–> Say it with me, Gunnja. Enga sollu paapom, Gunnnja. Not Gajeera.

” Its a more cheaper version of something like the”

–> Yes in the lower reaches of Manaali it is called poor man’s hash.

“Its not like a sweet but more of hardened candy the size of a standard Nutrine Chocolate.”

–> Hard candy it most certainly is, but try it with Rasmalai (one of those North Indian Sweets that you get at Adyar Ananda Bhavan these days — no need to go upto Sowcarpet), works much better than in the Nutrine Chocolate in my opinion.

my Favourite chocolate – wrong capitalisation
    ferrero rocher – no capitalisation
ok, those can be excused as this a blog.

another time on this… – ok, can excuse this phrase as this is a blog

little bit of minty flavour on it. – ON it?
jagerry – what is this? oh, do you mean jaggery?
iinside – can be excused as a typo.
Nothing beats this macho down in times. – “in times”????
Its a more cheaper version – ??!!!! haa haa! haaa!

Many of your posts stink with such errors. Take a tutorial college course and try to be better next time.
