Basheer is a malaylee writer, and his birth centenary is being celebrated in Chennai.

The is organized by The Perch, which calls itself a collective. Now that reminds me of another similar collective project in Chennai which went down the drain or up in flames. The other project was launched with much fanfare and didn’t make any headway. They even flew in people from the US to launch it.

This collective though seems to have made considerable progress towards organizing this event. They have come out with the schedule. This collective seems very unlike the other collective started in Chennai.
