Tara Publishing is having a reading of one of its new children’s titles, That’s How I See Things at Landmark, Nungambakkam, on Saturday, January 19 at 6 p.m. That’s How I See Things by Sirish Rao and Gond tribal artist Bhajju Shyam has been chosen as one of the Best Books for Children for 2007 by The Sunday Times of London.
It tells the story of Siena Baba, a happy artist with an extremely weird and wonderful way of seeing the world and an even weirder and more wonderful way of painting it. One day he paints an extraordinary set of animals – the Pea-pig, the Blue-jion, the Monk-upine and more… but where does he put a pig that has peacock feathers and a bird that roars like a lion? Renowned Gond tribal artist Bhajju Shyam illustrates Sirish Rao’s humorous and profound tale about the power of art and the imagination.

Our festival to celebrate the centenary of the malayalam writer Basheer continues with our new play ” Sangati Arinhya! – Have you heard ! ”
Our first show is on Friday the 18th of Jan and runs all through this weekend and most of the next weekend – two shows on each day, one at 3:30 pm and the other at 7:30 pm. All shows are in the Museum Theatre, Egmore with tickets available at the venue or in all landmark outlets.
