Reminds me of my school. We had similar (though not such strict) rules there. It's sad to see such rules still exist!

I've experienced this bullshit before. I once went to sathyabama about 5 years back, i was with NIIT back then and we were doing a seminar about computer software for the college students. The sickest thing was the co-speaker who did demos with me was a girl. Guess what? I did the presentation one day, the next day the girl class mate went there to do the "Live Demo's". A total waste of all effort. I refused to go to this place from then on regardless of how much they paid us for it.

What is happening here is discrimination and not just segregation. Right of interacting with anyone you want is basic human rights. If someone is imposing something on this then its an issue of voilation of human rights. Sadly, parents have nothing but sex on their mind. Atleast that is the case with most parents who desperately pay shit loads of money to as donation to get them into the colleges.

donthecat,

I think its a question of choice. Although we have a million colleges, really speaking, they are all the same, because each one tends to try and out do the other in what they sadly believe to be a competitive advantage. So it would take a brave private institution to say - "We will actually not neuter our students" but then, the public is likely to say - "Hey, in that case, its probably unsafe for my kids". Sad.

Khaleel26,

This is a reference to the famous quote from Hamlet - "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"

funnily enough, most of the college management take pride in the fact that they have strict seggregation rules and actually list it as their USP!

As the author says, much has already been written about this and yet....

I wonder why folks join these colleges though they know about the f**ed-up rules ? And after you join, what's the point of cribbing ?

This is pathetic. This is the first time i am coming across such non-sense restrictions.
"But finally, even the mainstream media seems to have suddenly realized that something is rotten in the state of pass mark" what do you mean by this?
