Don’t put up with pollution

We’ve recently had a spate of tyre burnings near where I live in Perungudi. Yesterday was particularly bad with a large open ground’s scrub and refuse, including tyres, catching fire. The resulting black smoke was acrid, and sure to contain carcinogens and other toxic substances. I called the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and was put through to their complaints cell. Turns out they record your complaint, and if serious enough, send a squad to investigate the cause of the pollution and put a stop to it. They may insist on a written complaint before they act, but this is something that I felt everyone in Chennai needs to know.

So don’t put up with pollution anywhere for it will affect both your quality of life and health. Call the TNPCB at: 22235134/35/36…40. Lets make Chennai a better place for everyone.
