Statues in Chennai

Losks like statue for actor Sivaji Ganesan, has got into a legal trouble. Wouldnt it better to have statues of all greats inside a museum, rather than on a road? Dont we have enough traffic problems already?

Actually if alone the leaders were alive, they would be extremely happy if their statues are removed from the road as it is being used a public toilet for the birds.

Statues are best placed on the beach road. nothing wrong. And nothing wrong about Sivaji’s statue. Why is there a Traffic Problem ?

However I dont agree with having Statues for each and every person..

Statue for Sivaji Ganesan? What he did for country? Except earned crores of rupees and several crores worth of property for his family.
Who is bearing the cost of the statue and installation?whethr his family is paying the entire expenses from the huge money they are having? What is the interest the DMK ministry having in this matter. People know what the respect given by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam when Sivsji was a member in the same. Just to get popularity at the eve of Grama Panchayath Elections the DMK Ministry is showing the overflowing urgency in installing the statue, which everybofy knows.

    Birds of Chennai,
    :)

    Keerthivasan,
Dont you think the beach road will look more beautiful without statues?

    Suppamani,
Err. The topic of discussion is not about whose statue needs to be there, or whether the person deserves it!

I agree with Keerthivasan. what did he do for the country? the present govt. is more interested in erecting statues in various places rather than improving infrastructure like roads which are in pathetic condition in Chennai. Who is crying to get statue of Sivaji here. When will these politicians learn the lesson.
