Greenery on the Highway
When I wrote about the Chennai-Bangalore Highway a few days ago, I missed mentioning one thing that I really appreciated. That is the smart use of the central divider space between the up and down lanes. All along the highway there were stretches of flower bushes and grass patches. And the best part is they were very well maintained.
A few minutes back, I read this article in the Hindu titled “Chennai Bangalore Highway to go green” and wondered, isn’t it already so?
Good about the greenery and their enthusiasm to water it. If you start out early from Chennai you can find them watering here and there in a tractor, coming from nowhere driving against you on your side, suddenly showing hand signals to move. Absolutely showing no fear for cars coming against them at over 100 km.
