Krishna Jayanthi Goodies

Next week brings with it Gokulashtami / Janmashtami / Krishna Jayanthi – Aug 15 and 16 isn’t it?

I was at Grand Sweets Anna Nagar last evening for a quick, heavy snack of Adai Aviyal (how dare they price it at Rs.25!) Not one to resist the strong pull of the rasamalai that arrived fresh in a counter inside, I stepped in to buy some for home. That is when I noticed the jute goodies bag displayed prominently next to a notice board. Grand Sweets is now selling a Krishna Jayanthi goodies bag filled with

1) Vella Seedai
2) Seedai
3) Manoharam
4) Kai Murukku
5) Mullu Murukku
6) Athirasam
7) Groundnut Urundai

250gms of each item + jute carry bag. Price Rs.225 *

I would have preferred a 500gms pick three items of your choice option instead of this standard bag. Yet, smart tactic this.

*copied exactly as in the Notice board

Grand sweets ,Adyar is my regular haunt whenever I come home from abroad (which is very frequently.) I like the ambience and the sales go up and up .On one hand there is a comment that India is becoming the diabetic capital of the world and on the another Grand sweets,Adyar Ananda Bhavan.,Krishna sweets go on selling more and open more branches (including Domestic and International terminals.)

I would hopefully believe there are still enough people, youngsters, children who can have a go at sweets !
