Visible progress at Kathipara!

We had reason to pass through Kathipara junction en route to Porur to a church district meeting. As we passed through the busy junction, my pulse quickened when I saw the progress that has been made in constructing the multi-level grade separator. When complete, it should keep the traffic from every direction moving smoothly without pause, much like it does over similar multi-level flyovers abroad. It will make an enormous difference to how traffic flows into and out of the city at this all important junction, cutting down on time, stress and traffic pile ups. The city will have three such grade separators, the other two located at the Koyambedu and Padi junctions. There;s been progress at the airport too, with the supports of the flyover leading to the airport coming up. All these areas should be quite transformed a year from now.

i think the best thing to happen at kathipara is despite hectic construction they have managed to ease out traffic by having a mot of small roads… good going by the government…

It is a good improvement. But the progress is snail’s pace. Lot of buildings are demolished. Hence the cost are on the increase. As they trnasplant trees, they should also transplant buildings. The buildings in the highways should be constructed as in abroad like precast floors so that it is easy for dismantling for relocation. Two huge IT parks are coming on the rood to ekkathuthangal and the traffic is going to be still choas. The bridge can take only todays traffic, but not traffic after 2 years
