Hi, I just came across an earlier post you made about the Madras College in St Andrews, Scotland, but I couldn’t post a comment there. I was a student at the school from 1998-2004, and I know there is always a keen interest among the staff tore-establish contact with schools in Chennai, so if you have any suggestions I think you should contact them through the school website. What you say about the Madras System in quite correct; Dr Bell’s system was the basis for over 2,000 schools in Britain. Our school is one of the few that still bear the name, and the system still runs in a different way, known as the Peer Tutoring System, which sees senior pupils helping with junior classes or one-on-one sessions once a week.

Some of the sixth-year go on to do Gap-years these days, and I remember when quite a few went to Chennai and wrote back to tell us what it was like.
