Some do it better!
None of us, Metblog authors, have ever written anything like this. Not to my memory, at least. This is poetry in prose.

Yes Nandhu, I do appreciate the womanist poets writing. But please, do we have to be cheerleaders, or commentators, or even compare with, another blog? Without trying to sound too preachy, can you/we not just be ORIGINAL with our own writing?
Nandhu, thanks for sharing thatpowerful piece about the city. It was good to see some of the angst that many of us Chennai citizens feel so nicely articulated and expressed!
this blog is both about "original" writing and about linking to bloggers who write about the city. unfortunately, while commentators can tell us what they like and what they don’t, we can’t, u would understand, design this blog to suit your particular tastes.
I have no desire to argue with what you write on your blog, Nandhu. But I wish to comment that originality is better – and preferred.
That is understood. But when there are posts as good as the one I have linked to here, then I feel the urge to share it with metblogs readers who may or may not read that post.
I feel posts of such rare quality need to be linked to.
Besides, if you are averse to reading such stuff, you can always skip it. We post enough to give you the choice. pls exercise it. We don’t expect all readers to read everything.
Also, almost every post is greeted with derision and negative criticism. some of the comments have nothing to do with the post. while commentators are welcome to go on their own trip, they need to worry whether their "trips" are relevant at all.
